Cmore and dll error

I have just started having problems with the C-more programming software. the error I get is "EA-PGM.exe has encountered a problem and needs to shut down". The "Error signature" has the following information AppName:ea-pgm.exe, AppVer:2.53.0.0, ModName: mfc42u.dll, ModVer: 6.2.4131.0, Offset: 00004847. I was having this problem with ver2.4 so I upgraded to ver2.53. I have tried downloading mfc42u.dll with no luck. Any help would be very appreciated.

Did the C-more software ever work on that particular PC? If so, then it is likely that about the time it stopped working, something was installed or uninstalled on the PC that corrupted the mfc42u.dll . We have had issues trying to reinstall this DLL also.

Unfortunately the only solution we have found is reinstalling the Service Packs. If this does not work, then reinstalling the OS on the PC.

There may be some way to get the correct mfc42u.dll in the right place, but we have not been able to.

Has anyone tried going to a working computer and search for the file. I am running XP and had to go to another computer and found the file in several locations. It was in windows/system 32, and some other places. I took it from one computer and copied it onto the other computer. I may have copied it into several directories to make sure it would work. But it may only need to be in the system32 directory. I can not remember where I copied it to, it was long ago.

Such a drastic fix! That seems to be the standard response from any software vendor when the products fail.

It is like a doctor telling you that you have cancer, it can be cured, just reinstall your self, get born again and you are cured.

It would seem that the software providers should/could be able to allow there package to be repaired?

I agree; it is drastic. In this case, it is not the C-more package that is broke. The DLL is a Windows file used by C-more. It is not installed with C-more. fficeffice" />>>

DLL error(s)

These DLL errors are always getting messed up, but I am thinking here it seems to only effect the application program itself.

I have had a similar problem on a desktop that I can't upgrade the Cmore software. So, I use my laptop for that work and the desk top for other things.
Makes me leery of upgrading to Windows 7

If the DLL only effects the application program, isn't there some way to have a way around that?
