  • Need assistance with modbus in a Direct205 system

    An existing system uses the Direct205 with the following modules: DL250 CPU, D2-16ND3-2, two D2-16TD2-2, F2-BAD4DA-1, three F2-04THM, and H2-ECOM100.
    I have been tasked with identifying a specialist who works with these PLCs who can help set up the Modbus module. We need to:
    1. Identify the existing programming to know where the analog data is being stored.
    2. Restore the PLC program in the event our adding of the Modbus programming affects the PLC.

    What is the "Modbus Module" you speak of?
    Where is the system located?

      Each of those modules info reside in Virginia memory that can be transmitted via modus protocol. I have sent blocks of bits but never anything from an analog module.

          That's an F2-8AD4DA-1, for clarification.

          This manual, https://cdn.automationdirect.com/sta...nlg/d2anlg.pdf has all of the analog cards and what their corresponding configuration values are. It's a little bit of a whacky system of pointers and addresses, but it can be determined. Basically, analog cards have a static address based on physical location in the rack, but then can be "mapped" to other V-memory addresses.
