Who has the fastest CRC algorithm? Suppose PIC16F877 runs 10MHZ (2.5 MIPS). Silent transmission is two frames, 115,000 baud. Is that okay?

    Lookup table
...or so I have read. Never implemented a crc lookup

    here is an example.
I dont know what crc you are after. The linked example is crc-16.
    poly. x^16 + x^12 + x^5 + 1

What would you use a CRC algorithm for with PLC network communications?

Pretty sure this is a drive by and not a real post.

Well, OP did mention a PIC16F877, so maybe OP wants an embedded to communicate with a PLC?

We see these on Host's forum from time to time. Almost make sense, but seem to be about getting a user name or part number into a search engine.

But you may be right. It might be fully legit.
