  • Help with use of AFIND on DL06

    Using DL06
Is it possible to use AFIND to detect control characters such as CR or LF in an ASCII string?

  • #2
Yes, use the $ as the hexadecimal escape sequence, e.g. $0D$0A would be CR/LF (to actually search for a dollar sign, use $$).

The Help system details all the various hex escape sequences for PRINT, ECEMAIL, AFIND, etc.
There are 10 kinds of people in this world, those who know binary, and those who do not.

      Franji1,
I looked at the manual for this earlier - could not understand what was meant.
      Thanks for clearing this up.

I had to use AFIND to search for the third and fourth occurrences of the tab character in a long string of tab delimited fields from a QR code then extract the string between them. There was further processing for significant information within that string. Lots of branches in the logic depending on what was found. I learned a lot doing that project.

Thanks Franji1. I have now also found it in the manual. Appreciate the help.
