  • 12v delay-off timer

I am in need of an inexpensive 12v off-delay timer. Nothing too elaborate; simply 12v, off-delay, and small. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not 'timer savvy' so please be as detailed as possible with any replies.

    Thanks!

    James,

You might not find a 12vdc off delay timer.. However, A small 12vdc relay, a diode, a capacitor & a resistor would do the trick. All available at your local Radio Shack.

without the relay contact load & delay time, I cant help you with the exact parts.

      BigJames240,

This doesn't fit your inexpensive criteria, but here are some omron units. I think you can buy a DL05 DC unit (D0-05DD-D) for less money.

      signal off delay programmable
      H5CX-ASD
      H5CX-L8D
      H5CX-AD
      H3CR-A

Here is a koyo unit that will work on 12 volts
      KT-V4S-C-D
It's also a signal off delay

A word of warning: if this is going on an 12 volt system that is also starting an engine you will need some protection if you decide to use a plc.

I couldn't find any 12 volt true power off delay units
