    I understand how Sinking and sourcing outputs work on PLCs but I dont understand how Relay outputs work, could someone explain this to me? Thanks!

    (Not facetious) Do you understand how a relay works?

    Assuming you do view page 2-20 of the DL06 User manual. Chapter 2 is available here.

    Note that this is only one example of how the contacts of relays may be presented to terminals in PLCs. Some may have the NO, NC and Pivot all to individual terminals affording complete isolation from the other relay contacts. You will have to carefully look at wiring diagrams for the specific hardware you will use.

    Not that the coil wires are controlled by the PLC and are not present on any terminal.

      Yes I understand that I was just having trouble seeing how it works as an output on a PLC. Sorry if these questions seem stupid Im all new to the world of automation and learning as I go. Thanks!
