  • P2K data view issue

I just started using version 3.2.2 (4) and 'there's an issue in the data view. When expanding/shrinking an array (+/- icon), the Modbus address column comes back. I have to manually disable it every time. Anybody has the same issue?
    Thanks!

    I looked at 3.1.1.1.
I had the opposite experience from you. I would have to keep adding the Modbus Address column back. Hmmm. win some/lose some

I have dual installation (didn't replace the old one). I checked my previous version 3.0.2.2 (1) and it has the same issue as the latest one (3.2.2 (4) ), and it didn't have it before. It looks like a shared dll is having issues.
I'll uninstall the old one and reinstall the latest one to test.
kewakl, do you have more than one instance installed?

Since the PAC software runs in a java sandbox, I am unsure how the .dll thing works.
Some oddities could arise if versions share registry entries (HKCU\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs) but interpret the values differently.

YES! You would be surprised. I like to evaluate the issues that I find - from rev to old rev.

        1.10.0.11
        1.10.1.1
        2.0.3.1
        2.4.4.1
        3.0.0.31

        3.0.2.2

Tested this in 3.2.2.4 and it appears to be with any column you hide when an array is expanded when collapsed and expanded again the hidden column is again visible.

I will enter a trouble ticket with our software team.

Weird thing here is that it wasn't happening in my previous version 3.0.2.2
Again, hope it gets fixed ASAP!!! It is very annoying.

              At home now...
I see the unwanted columns in 3.0.2.2 and 3.1.1.1 - now I must recheck 3.1.1.1 at the shop (wrt post #2)
I do not see either issue in 3.2.0.12, 3.2.1.1 OR 3.2.2.4
I just installed them in that order. Tried twice. Open SW, open project, test, close/reopen project, then go to next rev. Could not duplicate either missing or unwanted columns.

[work PC]As it applies to OP's issue, ignore all the text above! I was looking at the TagDatabase, not DataView.
However, there is a similar issue with the tag database headers - I turn OFF ModStart and ModEnd, they come back when an array is toggled close/open.
So, maybe fix that too. (well, this issue is present in 3.1.1.1, not present in 3.2.0.12, 3.2.1.1, 3.2.2.4)

              In a DATAVIEW
In 3.0.2.2, 3.1.1.1 have to turn ON Modbus Address everytime that I toggle an array close/open
              --------------installed 3.2.0.12, 3.2.1.1 and 3.2.2.4 - in that order
3.2.0.12, 3.2.1.1 Modbus Address column seem to work correctly -- dataview and tagdatabase
3.2.2.4 works correctly ONCE. One toggle of close/open, the column is correctly honoring my setting. The second close/open, the Modbus Address column is back.

No, Wait, What??? Now 2.0.2.2, 3.1.1.1 shows the Modbus Address every time. Maybe OP is on to something (DLL Hell). One version buggering another.
Reinstall 3.1.1.1 did not fix. guess I am now infected!
Now 3.2.0.12 and 3.2.1.1 work correctly ONCE.

[home PC]Odd 'coincidence' at the end of installing 3.2.2.4, I had a message that my (new) serial mouse driver failed to install correctly.
I do not have, and never have had a serial mouse plugged into the computer. I have a logitech mx518 moooose

[edit] update for statement made about mod address columns in tag database

                Rechecking at home...
Results got too convoluted to get a statement that I had confidence in posting.
Some versions (3.2.1.1, 3.2.2.4) - the Modbus Address column INITIAL state depends on the last selection made in whatever version that I had open
Some - always enabled and had to add every time that I close/open the array

Looking at ..\Prefs\com\adc\apps\pac\desktop\data2panel, Data\View\Sub\Tableprefs changes just closing/opening an array

I don't know what all the following chatter means, but a registry entry changing because I close/open an array(once or twice) in a dataview and the dataview preferences changing because of that close/open --- seems to point to an issue.
I am posting this simply to assist in resolving this issue.
                ver 3.2.2.4
blue is the original state, red is the diff state (maybe not the diff values), orange is dunno, green is just interesting
