  • Need help using a GS2 VFD Drive controlled by p2-550 using GS Write command

Does anybody have a simple program written to control a GS Drive to run a motor forwards and backwards using the GS Drive Write Command?

Are you also using the GS-EDRV100? You would need this to be able to use the GSW/GSR instructions in the P Series plcs. If you do not have the GS-EDRV100 you will need to use MWX/MRX commands and the modbus addresses of the GS drive.

As techme has stated, without knowing your hardware configuration it's difficult to provide accurate answer.
Why worry? If you've done the best you can, worrying won't make it any better

I do not have example logic handy, but just use the GSW instruction and make sure you have tags for the "run frequency" and the "Serial direction" (P2.28) in the "Run Mode" "Comm/System" tabs of the instruction. Make sure your drive is set up to be controlled from serial communications. Leave the tag used for serial direction off "0" to run fwd and make "1" to run reverse. Each time the tag changes do run mode write and make sure you have a value in the run frequency tag and the auto run rung is true and it should run in the commanded direction.
