  • How Do You Use The Fault tag on the output card(P2-16TD2P)

I have started to write a program for a P2000 PLC and was wanting to make use of the fault logging on the hardware. On the output cards each output can have a fault bit allocated to it. However when I run the program every other output is being reported as faulty. Is this because it has not been wired to a physical output or has not been used in the program.

From the tech specs, it seems that you are close.
If an output has NO LOAD(Note 1), or has OVERLOAD/OVERTEMP, then the fault bit goes true.
I am confused by Note 1.
Note 1: Open Load Fault is always enabled, but is only valid when output is OFF. If Open Load Fault happens while output is ON, fault will not appear until you turn OFF output
