  • PoE Switch

I just ran into a need for a PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch, and got sticker shock. Any thought to AD offering them?

Great question. We are actually in the process of launching a POE switch option and we are hoping to release them very soon.
If you have an urgent issue, please contact AutomationDirect's Technical Support team at 1(800) 633-0405 or (770) 844-4200. Thank you

In the meantime.... you can purchase a PoE injector fairly inexpensively. This may be an option if you only have one or two lines that need power.

the cost really just depends on the brand. Companies like Ubiquiti are top notch and are major players in the field though they are lesser known. Their switches are fully managed and are quite good in price:

        https://store.ubnt.com/collections/r...-switch-8-150w
        https://store.ubnt.com/collections/r...switch-24-500w

I hope AD ends up using Ubiquiti as their OEM for switches in the future instead of their current OEM which is crazy expensive.

And when AD starts selling poe switches, it would be awesome if you also started selling EtherNet/IP based PoE sensors too.

Those are nice, but I need DIN rail mounting. I ended up using Phoenix 5-port switch; $340.00.
