  • CLICK Error(-3) and GUI-030 and possible KECommServer lockup

    This error sequence is Reproducible on this CLICK -- C0-02DR-D with CLICK V1.40.
    *Please consider that this laptop(hp AMD WinXP) is old and slow, so on a faster PC, this may be harder to reproduce. This is an AB legacy support laptop.

    Reproducible by
    * Online / connected
    * Select a program rung by mouse click. It is reproducible by CTRL-TAB to ladder then keyboard navigate to provide focus to the editor panel.
    * Click the 'Write project to PLC' tool button, ShiftF9 or menu PLC->Write Project into PLC...
    * Press ENTER immediately -- before the 'Read/Write Program' dialog appears.
    --a new (empty) branch will appear at the current rung
    --if the editor panel does not have focus, (or you are slow enough)the process should be successful
    * When the 'Read/Write Program' appears, click the 'OK' button or press 'Enter'
    * When the '...overwrite program...' dialog appears, click 'Yes' or press 'Enter'
    * When the '...change to STOP Mode...' dialog appears, click 'Yes' or press 'Enter'
    * When the 'Write Project into PLC' progress dialog appears, an error messagebox will appear. Error (-3): There is no target file.
    * Dismiss the error box
    * Another error messagebox will appear. GUI-030 Transfer failed. Check the communication cable and try again.

    These errors would be eliminated if (after the user clicks on the 'Write project to PLC' tool button) the software IMMEDIATELY disabled changes to the program in the editor panel.

    Other issues with this sequence of actions: It DOES place the CPU into STOP MODE and locks communications of KECommServer.exe.
    If you disconnect from the CLICK at this point, you will need to KILL KECommServer.exe from Task Manager.
