  • Arduino PRO IDE?

Has anyone checked out the new Arduino Pro IDE?

    https://www.arduino.cc/pro/arduino-pro-ide

Visual Micro in Visual Studio was cool because of a lot of the developer tools (e.g. Intellisense) but it was so buggy I had to go back to the basic IDE. This is supposed to give step-line coverage for on-board debugging.

There's a CLI version of the Arduino tools coming out too. https://www.arduino.cc/pro/cli

I've used the Pro IDE a handful of times. It's way better than the original releases, but still fairly buggy. Right now I don't believe there is a clean way to install 3rd party boards, but if you install them in the normal IDE first, they will show up in the Pro IDE. I'm looking forward to the first stable release.

The CLI is actually out already. We use it during P1AM-100 production. I believe everything in the Pro IDE is just using the CLI in the background. One of the biggest features it has, is that it can flash a pre-compiled binary.
